Ezekiel 33:11

Display Chapter and Footnotes

 11 Say to them, 'As I live, says the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, O house of Israel?' [So that no man would die while still sinning and lose his soul, God's grace has appeared to all men, Tit 2:11; the light (Christ) is given to all men so that they might believe, John 1:7,9; (a talent) measure of God's Spirit is given to all men to profit withal 1 Cor 12:7; and God's Spirit was poured out on all men at Pentecost, Acts 2:1-21.]

 30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, everyone according to his ways," says the Lord GOD. "Repent! And turn from all your transgressions, so iniquity will not be your ruin.

 31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, by which you have transgressed; and get a new heart, a new mind, and a new spirit. For why will you die1, O house of Israel?

 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies," says the Lord GOD. "Therefore turn [from your evil ways] and live!"

 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, "In truth I perceive that God is no respecter [shows no partiality] of persons, [God is fair, God is pure, God is just, and God anonymously pleads with every man to turn from their selfish, evil ways because God would have all men to be saved; but man must heed God's convictions in his day of visitation. However, the vast majority of men love their own, selfish, evil ways; and so they deny the truth and flee from God's revealing of their deeds, unaware it was the light of God reasoning with them and attempting to save them from the consequences of their continued evil, selfish life.]

 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness2 is accepted by him. [The beginning works of righteousness are to regret your past sins, turn from evil as you know it, share from your excess with those who do not have the necessities of life, and make every effort to: not lie, be honest, not take advantage of anyone, not oppress people, not want more, and not complain. Further righteousness results from obedience to God's commands to you, which you hear and see as you wait on God in humble silence, listening and watching for His spoken words and revelations to you.]

 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

 4 Who would have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. [So that all men might be saved (freed from sin, which is salvation), God's grace has appeared to all men, Tit 2:11; the light (Christ) is given to all men so that they might believe, John 1:7,9; (a talent) measure of God's Spirit is given to all men to profit withal 1 Cor 12:7; and God's Spirit was poured out on all men at Pentecost, Acts 2:1-21.]

Revelation 3:20

Display Chapter and Footnotes

 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock. If any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.6 [The door is every man's heart; the knock is His gentle, anonymous voice pleading with you to depart from evil. To open the door is to believe His pleading to be true and to repent from the evil that He exposes. To sup with Him is to receive more of his Spirit that He pours on you in response to your obedience in heeding His reproofs. From the Word of the Lord within: "Every man has heard the call to repent."]

John 3:17

 17 For God did not send his Son into the world [every man] to condemn the world [every man]; but so that the world [every man] might be saved through him. [For the Son of man has not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. Luke 9:56. To be saved is to be freed from all sin; even the desire to sin is taken away.]

Acts 17:26-27

Display Chapter and Footnotes

 26 He has made from one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the allotted times and the boundaries of their habitation;

 27 So that they should seek the Lord, and perhaps might feel after him and find him, though he is not far from every one of us. [Paul has just told us the single purpose of this life: to reach out and find God. From the Word of the Lord within: "The earth exists for the saints;" the earth exists to produce saints, who are sons of God with his Spirit in control of their thoughts, words, and deeds, thus to bring pleasure, honor, and glory to God. God is not found in sect meetings; God is not found in the Bible, which only testifies of Him. George Fox wrote: "The Father is in you all, Christ is in you, and the Kingdom of Heaven is in you; there, in your hearts, is where you will find them all. Know him there searching your hearts, and find him there trying your minds and hearts; incline your ears, and give ear to him there, who will render to everyone of you according to your words and works whether they are good or evil."]
