Who, though He was one with God and in the form of God, did not think this equality with God was something to be retained [held fast];
But made himself nothing, and took upon himself the nature of a slave, and became like men, born a human being.
And after appearing in the likeness of man, he humbled himself further, and carried his obedience to death, even the death of the cross!
|Colossians 1:16-20 |
For by him all things were created that are in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers. All things were created by him and for him;
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
He is the head of his body, the church; who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that in all things he might have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that all fullness should dwell in him;
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, to reconcile by him, all things to himself; by him, I say, whether they are things on earth, or things in heaven.3 ["And when all things are subdued to him, then will the Son himself also be subject to him [God] who put all things under him, that God [the Father] may be all in all." 1 Cor 15:28.]
