Display Chapter and Footnotes

11 In whom you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision performed by Christ.2 [Christ is the anointing, which teaches you all things and which circumcises your heart, cutting off the foreskin of sin and selfishness to become an inward Jew, inwardly circumcised.]

12 Buried with him in baptism, in which also you are risen with him through faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead.3

Ephesians 2:6

Display Chapter and Footnotes

6 And has raised us up together [with Christ], and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.3 [This is to have experienced being translated into the kingdom of heaven, where you are with Christ in sight and consciousness. From the Word of the Lord within: "I work with the blind; but if you think you can see, and you are not with me in heaven, I will make you a laughingstock.]

Romans 6:5-6

Display Chapter and Footnotes

5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will certainly also be united in the likeness of his resurrection. [The Romans had died on the inward cross of self-denial, to be free of sin; but they had not yet experienced Christ to raised in them to become an entirely new creature, in union with God as a son born of God. See Note 2 below for the detail of the two-step perfection.]

6 Knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with him, that our body of sin might be destroyed, so that we would not serve sin any longer. [Christendom, with no knowledge of how to carry a cross, presumes that they have been crucified with Christ by imputation, which is make-believe Christianity. You must mortify your sinful nature on the inward cross of self denial so that you are freed of sin.]
