|2 Corinthians 11:2-3 |
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy; for I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.1
3 But I fear, lest that as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
1 Paul says he is laboring over the Corinthians that he might present them as chaste virgins to Christ; Jesus said: to enter the Kingdom we must become like little children, innocent of sin. This refers to the 144,000 in Revelation, who are virgins, not defiled by women; Christ changes a person, making them virgins again, the lust removed, the defilement by women removed. Paul speaks in Colossians of presenting every man perfect in Christ Jesus; or as the Amplified says: present every person mature (full-grown, fully initiated, complete, and perfect) in Christ (the Anointed One), Col 1:28. The perfection of the saints is the work of the ministry, till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Eph 4:11-13.
