2 Peter 2:14-19

 14 Having eyes full of adultery [lusts and love of the world], who cannot cease from sin, beguiling unstable souls. They have exercised their heart in covetous practices, they are cursed children, [The false prophets and false teachers did not have the patience to bear the cross and crucify their lusts and affections before preaching and teaching, and so they are filthy dreamers: filthy in mind and spirit and dreaming that they are saved, righteous, and capable of preaching and teaching. Fom the Word of the Lord within: "They are filthy dreamers;" they are filthy because their hearts are defiled with all manner of sins that they still commit with disregard to the Lord's many warnings and requirements, and they are dreaming that they are righteous. ]

 15 Who have forsaken the right way and have gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,

 16 Who was rebuked for his iniquity by the dumb ass speaking with a man's voice forbidding the madness of the prophet.3

 17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a storm, for whom black darkness is reserved.

 18 For speaking great swelling words of vanity, they lure through the lusts of the flesh and much wantonness, those who were barely escaping from those who live in error. [To live in error is to live in sin.]

 19 Although these false teachers promise them liberty, they themselves are the slaves of corruption [sin, immorality]; for by whatever a man is overcome, he is enslaved.4 [False teachers promise liberty to continue in sin.; but Jesus said, "Truly, Truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin." John 8:34. The wages of sin is death. Rom 6:23. There is a liberty for a crucified son of God, free from all sin, walking in love and fulfilling the law; but until you are free from all sin, you are subject to being banned from heaven when you die.]

 11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, and have run greedily after the error of Balaam for pay, and have perished in the gainsaying [rebellion] of Korah.

 12 These are spots in your feasts of love, where they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear. They are clouds without water, carried along by the wind; trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever.
