1 they hear your words, but they will not do them; for they show much love with their mouth, but their heart goes after their covetousness. To them you are like a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument, for they hear your words but they do not do [obey] them. This is an exact description to Christendom today. They hear the words of warning, they hear the words of the requirements of cleansingpurity — perfection and holiness; but they think they don't apply to them because they are saved. They think they can continue to sin, die, and go to heaven; which they cannot. They profess much love for their god who condones all their sins and excuses them, but they do not obey any of the commands of Jesus.
