Hebrews 9:13-15

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh,

14 How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purge your conscience from dead works [from your own will] to serve the living God?1 [Dead works are decided to be done by the carnal mind and will of men who are dead to the life of God that Adam lost for all men. Works of obedient faith to God's orders are not dead works and are essential works of life. From the Word of the Lord within: "When you are purged from dead works, you are freed from serving iniquity to serving God. Happy are they who serve God in His kingdom." Dead works also include obsolete works of the law such as: sacrifices, circumcision, tithing, days, sabbaths, foods, etc.]

15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, so that those who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

1 How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purge your conscience from dead works [from your own will] to serve the living God? The blood of Christ is sprinkled in the conscience of your heart, which purges you of dead works, being your deeds and words that originated from your own will, your carnal mind, your evil imagination. The carnal mind and imagination must be destroyed by grace, and then you witness the blood of Christ being sprinkled in your heart, which even erases the memory of your past sins, allowing you to be in the presence of God without shame. Then you serve the living God in virtuous words and deeds prompted by God. Thus you are fulfilling your prayer: thy will be done. God's grace and salvation are provided to create a people dedicated to good works:

That you might walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing in all things, being fruitful in every good work,.. Col 1:10
Again Paul said, "The purpose of grace.. to purify a peculiar people zealous for good works." Titus 2:11-14
Paul states God's purpose in salvation: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, Eph 2:10.
Now the God of peace... Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you what is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ. Heb 13:20-21.
