And I, whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, am accused by you, saying to me, 'You blaspheme;' because I said, I am the Son of God?5
|Mark 14:61-64 |
But he held his peace and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"
And Jesus said, "I Am. And you shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the power, and coming in the clouds of heaven."4 [Heaven appears to our spiritual eye as in a mist or in clouds — so, his coming is on the clouds of heaven, within the hearts of purified believers — just like he ascended: he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. Acts 1:9. Even Daniel in 538 BC saw Jesus coming on the clouds of heaven: I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. Dan 7:13.]
Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "What further need do we have of any witnesses?
You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.5
