When you bear (produce or bring forth) much fruit, my Father is honored and glorified, and you show that you are truly my disciples [true followers].2 [The fruit that this verse references is the fruit of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace (quietness and confident trust forever), patience (including longsuffering, steadfastness, and perseverance), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, (including meekness and humility), and self-control (mastery of sensual appetites, desires, and passions). Gal 5:22-23. Everyone who does not produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit in this life is thrown into the fire, like branches on a tree are pruned and thrown into the fire. This is the test of a true disciple or follower of Jesus: to produce fruit; and when a true follower produces fruit, the Father is honored and glorified! I ask you, "have ever heard of a more worthy goal than to bring honor and glory to your creator?"]
|John 14:20-24 |
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.3
He who has my commands, and obeys them, it is he who loves me; and he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will show myself to him."4 [Obey the commands you hear him speak to you from within your heart, and the words he speaks to you from within you heart impart the life of God, John 6:63; that life of God, Christ, grows within you, as his words are engrafted in your heart, until you become pure and see God in the face of Christ Jesus. Mat 5:8, 2 Cor 4:6.]
Then Judas, not Iscariot, said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will show yourself to us, and not to the world?" [This means that Jesus only appears for a second time to those disciples who have obeyed Him, to be purified, and who are waiting on His return in them. He appears in a man's heart; but he is hidden to the world. This applies to all true disciples, (2000 thousand years ago until now), who carry their inward cross of self-denial to crucify their lusts and affection.]
And Jesus answered and said to him, "If a man loves me, he will obey my spoken words; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him5 [in his heart; and they live in a kingdom, into which you are translated. When you are translated into the kingdom, (while still alive on earth), you also see Him. Jesus appears in your heart. Jesus is revealed. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them, and be their God." Rev 21:3.]
He who doesn't love me, does not obey my spoken words; and the spoken words that you hear are not mine, but are the Father's who sent me.
