Luke 10

 1 Now after these things the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place where he himself would come.

 2 Then said he to them, "The harvest is truly great, but the laborers are few; pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he would send out laborers into his harvest.1

 3 Go your way. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.

 4 Carry neither purse, nor bag, nor shoes; and greet no man on the way.

 5 And into whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this household.'

 6 And if a man of peace is there, your peace will rest upon it; if not, it shall return to you again.

 7 Remain in the same house, eating and drinking those things which they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his hire.2 Do not go from house to house.

 8 And into whatever city you enter, where they welcome you, eat whatever they set before you.

 9 Heal the sick that are in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near you.'

 10 But into whatever city you enter, where they do not welcome you, go out into the streets of that city, and say,

 11 'Even the very dust of your city, which clings on us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless be sure of this: the kingdom of God has come near you.'

 12 But I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.

 13 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they would have repented a great while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

 14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

 15 And you, Capernaum, which is exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell.

 16 He who hears you hears me; and he who rejects you rejects me; and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."

 17 Now the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us through your name."

 18 And he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

 19 Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions [evil spirits inside a man], and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."

 21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit and said, "I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to babes, even so, Father, for it seemed good in your sight.

 22 All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no man knows who the Son is but the Father, and who the Father is but the Son, and he to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." [The Father and the Son are only known through revelation: by the son revealing him for the Son and the Father are one Spirit. You do not know God or Jesus by studying the Bible or attending sect meetings. From the Word of the Lord within: "Christianity has no idea who I am or what I stand for. They are a clueless, fruitless people. They have missed the mark. Do you know him or just pretend to know him; to know him is to have met him and listened to him. Seek the meeting. The way is clear: listen and obey." ]

 23 And he turned him to his disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.

 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see and have not seen them, and to hear what you hear and have not heard them."

 25 Now a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, "Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

 26 And he said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?"

 27 And he answering said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."

 28 And Jesus said to him, "You have answered correctly. Do this do, and you shall live."

 29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

 30 And Jesus answering said, "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothes and wounded him and departed, leaving him half dead.

 31 Then by chance a certain priest came down that way, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

 32 And likewise a Levite, when he came to the place, saw him and passed by on the other side.

 33 But a certain Samaritan,3 as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

 34 And went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and he set him on his own beast and took him to an inn and took care of him.

 35 And the next day when he departed, he took out two coins and gave them to the innkeeper and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come again.'

 36 Now which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?"

 37 And he said, "He who showed mercy to him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

 38 Now it came to pass as they went, that he entered into a certain village, and a woman named Martha received him into her house.

 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at Jesus' feet and heard his word. [We hear his word from within our hearts. Rom 10:8,17.]

 40 Now Martha was distracted with much serving, and so she came to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her that she should help me."

 41 But Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things.

 42 There is only one thing needed and Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.4 [Jesus said to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness as our life's highest priority, Mat 6:33; and here Jesus tells us how, the one thing we need to do: to sit at His feet and listen to his words, which he speaks to us from within our hearts. To hear Him speak to us, we must sit in humble silence and wait — as we listen to hear and then obey; when we obey Him, we are following Jesus. From the Word of the Lord within: "In humble silence we sit and wait. Think on His name. Sit with me, and I will make you clean. Sit with me, and I will reveal all. Follow me as fast as you can; you start by sitting. If those who hear will obey, their progress will be swift. God is not found going to services or reading about him. There is only one thing needful. Hear me, my children. Come to me, and I will speak to your souls." Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and [then] you will find rest for your souls. Mat 11:29]

1 pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest. It is the Lord who is supposed to send the workers to the fields of harvest, but today's ministers have not been appointed by God nor have they been sent by God under direct orders; they are man-appointed and man-sent, and as such they are not Christ's. Instead, they are Satan's ministers transformed to appear as ministers of righteousness, 2 Cor 11:14-15.

Before being sent (Mark! Sent by God, not by man) to labor in the harvest, you must be taught, restored, readjusted, perfected, and authorized — by Christ's Holy Spirit. The teacher is Christ. You are a blind pupil. If the pupil starts teaching before the teacher has authorized him, then the blind pupil thinks he can see and is superior to the teacher. (Luke 6:39-42). You must wait for the teacher to pronounce you ready to teach; or with still more training, ready to preach, and ready to substitute for him. You must wait until you are told what to do and when to do it. If you are teaching or preaching now, from where does your authority come? You say a college or university, or your religious organization? From where does their authority come? Jesus said you must be set to rights, (as in authorized to teach or preach by Jesus himself), restored, (to the divine image of God as was Adam before the fall) readjusted, and perfected. (Luke 6:39-42). Otherwise, you are claiming superiority to Him by teaching without His explicit authority and His personal training, from Him to you; without it, by teaching or preaching, Jesus says you are estimating yourself, a pupil, to be superior to Him,* THE teacher. And this authorization of being set to rights from Christ does not come by feeling, doors opening, desires on your part, or your opinion — it has to come after perfection and from spoken words from Christ directly to you, and heard by you, that specifically tell you what to do and when to do it. The Lord of the harvest specifically sends forth his individual laborers. Such authorization comes from him directly and specifically; you hear him say: you are now a teacher, or: preach repentance and release from bondage of sins.

*Jesus only spoke, judged, and did as he was specifically ordered to by God; he did nothing by his own decision. If you are speaking and/or working for God without being specifically ordered in each word and action, you are essentially claiming that your own words and deeds are superior to what Jesus' might have been if he had made his own decisions about what to say and do.

Until your mind is renewed by repentance to purity with God's changing grace, your preachings and teachings come from the carnal mind, and the carnal mind is enmity against God. Rom 8:7. Until your mind has been changed, your words are without life, and speak from the nature of death. You can be a great public speaker receiving the praise of men, but so did the false prophets of old. Luke 6:26. Jesus told us that those preachers who did not speak words supplied by God, but rather spoke words from themselves, were seeking their own glory; whereas those who spoke words supplied by God, sought the glory of God. John 7:18

You must be specifically sent:

And how will they preach, unless they are sent? Rom 10:15
I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran, I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesy, but if they had stood in my counsel, and had my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and the evil of their doings. Jeremiah 23:21-22
The prophets prophesy lies in my name. I did not send them, neither have I commanded them, nor spoken to them. Jer 14:14

If you are not sent: you make him (your convert) twice as much a child of hell as yourselves. Mat 23:15

The ministers of Christendom are: not taught by the Lord's voice and light, not perfected by the Lord, not gifted with an authorized ministry, not sent by the Lord, and not speaking words from the Spirit of the Lord; rather they speak from their carnal minds, the nature of death, and preach their vain opinions from the imagination of their evil hearts. These ministers of Satan's Babylon masquerade as ministers of righteousness, themselves fooled to believe they are ministers of Christ.

2 Notice! Jesus said, Remain in the same house, eating and drinking those things which they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Their wages were what they were voluntarily given, not what they requested, not what they begged, not a contribution, not a pledge, not a tithe — only what they were given, that was to be the wages of their hire. Freely you have received, freely give. Mat 10:8. Peter, Jesus, Paul, and Jude forbid preachers to solicit money, and sudden disaster overcomes any who do.

3 A Jew considered a Samaritan and all Gentiles as untouchables. To even touch the hem on their garment defiled them, requiring their purification by rite. So, this parable was signaling a radical change in how Jews should treat the Gentiles — as neighbors, to be loved as themselves. Jesus is saying that everyone whom we come into contact with is our neighbor, whatever their religious persuasion, whatever their nationality. Jesus changed and challenged many customs, rites, ceremonies, and traditions — all to be replaced by love, for which he was crucified. He changed the outward religion of rituals, ceremonies, and words from the priests lips to an inward religion of a new heart and mind, with the law written on their hearts, and hearing the word within instead of without.

4 Notice, Jesus has just told us what one thing we need to do (42); the good part. Like Mary, we must sit at his feet and listen to his words, his teachings, his commands (39). Jesus was not reading the Bible to Mary. And neither do we listen to Jesus by someone reading the Bible. Neither do we show respect to Jesus by talking instead of being quiet and waiting to hear him speak. To hear his word, teachings, and commands, which are specifically tailored to our condition, we must come to him (wait in humble silence), listen for his words, hear his words, believe them to be from the Son of God, and then obey them as though your soul depends on obeying, (which it does). Jesus speaks to us with his word from within our hearts, and we must silently listen for his words: For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and does [practices] them.. is like a man building his house on rock. Luke 6:47-48. We must listen, hear, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21. From the Word of the Lord within: "If those who hear will obey, their progress will be swift." If you don't hear his voice, you are still lost in your sins; but if you listen and obey the voice of the truth, your soul is purified by obedience to the truth.1 Peter 1:22. Like Abraham, the father of our faith, whose faith obeyed the voice of the Lord, we too must evidence our faith by obedience to the voice of the Lord. Faith without obedience is only the lip service of hypocrites: This people draws near to me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their hearts are far from me. Mat 15:7-9.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and [then] you will find rest for your souls. Mat 11:29

All your holy ones are in your power. And they sit at your feet, each receiving your words. Deu 33:3

There is only one thing needed, and Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Martha is busy with works of the flesh: serving, cooking, etc.; while Mary is listening to words from the Spirit that impart the life of God to the listener: It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life-giving. John 6:63. And if we listen to the teachings we receive, keep, and practice them; these teachings and your resulting works of obedience to the commands of the Lord will not be taken away (42) — they will survive with us, going into the next life; when every man's works pass through the fire, the teachings heard and practiced will not be burnt up. Works of the flesh are anything that you are not ordered to do by God, including witnessing, teaching, preaching, reading, writing books, campaigning for social causes, campaigning against evil, singing in the choir, being a lay minister, etc.

It is a cross to a man's will to sit silently, struggling to keep his mind from wandering; it is a cross to a man's will to obey what he is commanded and taught by the Holy Spirit; this is the cross of which you must deny yourself and pick up every day to follow Jesus. To follow is to obey. You cannot be his disciple unless you pick up your cross daily (to listen in silence) and follow his orders. To follow his commands is to deny your will, and instead do His will: "Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Salvation is only received by those who follow the lamb wherever he goes — who obey completely the voice of the Lord, in whatever he commands. Do not be discouraged if you don't hear for some time. Even your waiting is to your credit: Let your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, in proportion to our waiting and hoping on you. Psalms 33:22. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen a God beside you, who acts for the one who waits for him. Isa 64:4.
