19 Because what may be known of God is revealed in them; for God has shown it to them.3 [Revelations come not from reading about God, nor from hearing someone talk about God, for God is only known by revelation in your heart, where you hear him and see His teachings about sin, righteousness, and Himself. George Fox wrote: "The Father is in you all, Christ is in you, and the Kingdom of Heaven is in you; there, in your hearts, is where you will find them all. Know him there searching your hearts, and find him there trying your minds and hearts; incline your ears, and give ear to him there, who will render to everyone of you according to your words and works whether they are good or evil,"]
20 For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes — His eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse.
20 Again, if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die; since you have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but I will require his blood at your hand.
21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he was warned; also you have delivered your soul."
24 But if the righteous turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered. In his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die.
|Ezekiel 33:12 |
12 Therefore, son of man, say to your people, 'The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression [disobedience]; as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live because of his past righteousness in the day that he sins.'
