31 So likewise, when you see these things happen, know that the kingdom of God is near.
34 But take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts become weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the cares of this life, and that day come upon you unexpectedly.
35 For it will come on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. [The second coming and the day of the Lord are one in the same personal experience, which occurs for all men in every generation. For those who are crucified to spiritually die on the inward cross of self-denial, the second coming occurs as the Lord appears after the baptism of fire has burned all the remaining sin in them. Their body dies in this baptism of fire and death, but the believer is raised (resurrected) with Christ and translated into the kingdom of God. Though raised with Christ to live in the heavens, they still walk the earth as a new creature together, in union with the Lord. From the Word of the Lord within: "The second coming is a personal experience. The second coming is in the hearts of purified believers. You can live in heaven and still walk the earth." For those who physically die without having been purified on the inward cross and who are still slaves to sin, the appearance of the Lord when they physically die is a terror for they will suddenly see how hopelessly evil they are.]
7 Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye will see him, and also those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will wail because of him.2 Even so, Amen. [Jesus said: "For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he will reward every man according to his works," Mat 16:27-28. (Not just a particular generation.) Some standing here will not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom, Mat 16:27-8,Mark 8:38,9:1,Luke 9:26-27; he comes to raise those men who have been crucified and purified to the kingdom. Those not crucified and purified see Jesus' coming in them as they die, as all peoples, all nations, all generations do. For those who die still sinning: "The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?" Isa 33:14. "For behold, the day comes that shall burn like an oven, and all the proud, yes, and all who do wickedly, will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch." Mal 4:1; "Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! For what good is it to you? The day of the LORD is darkness and not light." Amos 5:18. Woe to you Christians who think grace excuses your continued sinning for the Day of the Lord will be a terror to you.]
|1 Corinthians 3:13 |
13 That man's work will be exposed. For the day [of the Lord] will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will try and test every man's work, of what sort it is.2 [Faith must be demonstrated by works of love, which is obedience to the promptings of the Spirit of God's direction; such is the love of God. "But he who practices truth comes to the light, so that his deeds may be shown to have been produced [formed and powered] through God." John 3:21; such works are the only works that survive passing through the fire, which fire every man must go through, either by: 1) the unquenchable fire of the Holy Spirit's baptism of fire, or 2) passing through, (their part in), the unquenchable lake of fire, called Hell. ]
