Matthew 5:37

37 But let your 'yes' be 'yes,' and your 'no,' 'no;' for whatever is more than these comes from the evil one6 [the spirit of Satan within you]. [Man's heart is full of evil; man's mind is enmity to God. What an uncrucified man speaks is from his evil heart, mind, and spirit. Until our selfish spirit, the spirit of Satan, that every man has, is crucified, most all of what we speak is from that Spirit of Satan; even if you have "accepted Jesus," your mouth is still controlled by the spirit of Satan until it is crucified on the inward cross of self-denial to be replaced by the Spirit of Christ to rule your heart in thoughts, words, deeds.]

25 And he did not need any testimony from man, for he knew what was in man, [the evil in their hearts].2 [Until the Lord has trained a disciple, taught a disciple, chastised a disciple, cleansed a disciple, and purified the hearts of disciples, a man is unfit to be talking of the things of God. After being taught and cleansed, a man can speak words supplied by the Spirit of God immediately before speaking. From George Fox's Letter 316: (written in 1600's)

"Such as talk of Christ, and do not walk in him, such as profess him, and do not possess him, such as live not in the religion that was set up above sixteen hundred years since, such as profess Christ the way, and walk not in the way, the truth, and the life; all such talkers, and not walkers, are dishonorers of God, and cause his holy name to be blasphemed among such as make no profession."

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked...Jer 17:9

For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, hefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lack of restraint, an evil eye [envy], blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within a man, and defile him. Mark 7:21-23

...for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth...Gen 8:21

...those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, and blasphemies. Mat 15:18-19]

17 For we are not like so many, who peddle the word of God for profit; but we are speaking in Christ in the presence of God as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God.2 [From the Word of the Lord within: "The gregarious make a living teaching the scriptures. We stand in the presence of God speaking forth His words as commanded." Unless you are sent to specific person(s), and unless you then only speak words as commanded, you are seeking your own glory: He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of the One who sent him, that man is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him. John 7:18 ]

1 My brothers, not many of you should be teachers, knowing that we who teach will be judged by a stricter judgment;1 [Don't be eager to teach, preach, witness, or testify because until you are perfected, your words will have errors; and even if what you say is true, your words will not have life in them and will not reach the heart of your listeners. Only words spoken by the Spirit and repeated by you in the Spirit will have life in them and reach the heart of your listeners.]

2 For we all err in many things; and if any man does not err in his words, he is a perfect man, and able also to control his whole body.1

26 If anyone among you considers himself to be religious but does not bridle [restrain] his tongue, he deceives his own heart [thinking to be religious], and this man's religion is worthless.6 [From the Word of the Lord within: "People don't realize the evil that comes from their mouth. All talk is an abomination." For we all err in many things; and if any man does not err in his words, he is a perfect man, and able also to control his whole body. James 3:2. The fruit of a tongue that roams is death: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat its fruit." Pro 18:21]

10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially of the circumcision; [Unruly, vain talkers, and deceivers preached and taught their vain opinions from the thoughts of their carnal minds and imaginations instead of only preaching words they heard commanded by the Spirit immediately before speaking. The circumcision taught male circumcision was necessary.]

11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things they ought not to teach, for filthy lucre's sake. [They teach for money: a salary, or contributions, or "love gifts;" which violates the teachings of Jesus, Peter, Paul, and Jude.]

16 They profess that they know God; but they deny him by what they do, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. [It is not what you say you are, but what you do that makes you a Christian or not; from the Word of the Lord within: "If all that profess me, would possess me. Remember, every person who sins denies Him as Lord and Master. Do you know him or just pretend to know him; to know him is to have met him and listened to him. Seek the meeting." Good works are those that God directs a crucified, pure man to perform. When your selfish, evil nature has been destroyed, then you are directed by Him in good works to His glory. Until then, you can call him Lord, you can call him Master, but so did Judas, even kissing Him. You are the slaves of him whom you obey; whether of sin that leads to death, or of obedience that leads to righteousness. Rom 6:16.]

36 But I say to you, for every idle [non-edifying] word that men speak, they will give an account of the same in the day of judgment. [From the Word of the Lord within: "People don't realize the evil that comes from their mouth. All talk is an abomination. Conversation is to be restricted so much that you are ostracized. Let your words be as few as possible." "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth except what is edifying, so that it may minister grace to those who hear you." Eph 4:29. "But let your 'yes' be 'yes,' and your 'no,' 'no;' for whatever is more than these comes from the evil one (the spirit of Satan within you)." Mat 5:37.]

37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."4 [For we all err in many things; and if any man does not err in his words, he is a perfect man. James 3:2. So if you are going to be condemned for speaking idle words, and if you cannot control your words until you are perfect, then perfection is obviously required to be justified and saved. We must make the tree good, (perfect) to produce good fruit, or it will be cut down and cast into the fire. From the Word of the Lord within: "A good tree is a holy tree. You must be holy as I am holy. Pursue righteousness and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord." ]
