|1 John 5:17-19 |
17 All unrighteousness is sin; and there is a sin that does not lead to death.4
18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; instead God protects the one he has fathered, and the wicked one does not touch him.5 [The one whom God has fathered is a new creature, who is the believer with Christ resurrected within him; both then are raised to the heavens, to sit down in Christ, who never fell. He cannot fall to sin again because God protects him. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. John 10:29. Those born again live in heaven, but they also still walk the earth with Christ dwelling within them and guiding them with all words to speak and all deeds to be performed.]
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness. [From the word of the Lord within: "The whole world lies in wickedness; the wickedness knows no shame. Darkness mocks the earth; darkness covers the earth. Woe be to the inhabitants of the earth, who stand not in the counsels of the Lord, but as they wish. People of the world are taught vanity. There is no fear of God or common sense in the world. Everyone walks after the imagination of their heart. No one walks by me. All men are profane. All men are evil. Pride is eminent. Corruption is over all, corruption is under all, corruption is everywhere. The world knows no restraint; their passions are their downfall."]
5 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; instead God protects the one he has fathered, and the wicked one does not touch him. A person born of God can be tempted, but he cannot fall to temptation; he cannot again because he is protected by Christ and God within him. A man born of God is raised us up together [with Christ], and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Eph 2:6. He who is born of God is a part of Christ's body, in Christ; and Christ never sinned, and will never fall to sin. So the man who is part of Christ is protected from the wicked one — the walls of New Jerusalem are built high and strong within that man's heart, and the enemy cannot get in. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. John 10:29.
