Ephesians 5:8,5:14

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. [To be in darkness is to still be sinning; to be a child of the light is to have persistently believed in the light and followed the light, who is Christ. To walk in the light is to be guided in what to say and do. All men sit in darkness and walk in darkness until the light arises in their hearts. From the Word of the Lord within: "Walking in the light is to be guided through life by God; walking in darkness is making your own decisions as to what to do and say. Light comes from faith in the voice."]

14 Therefore he said, "Awake you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light." [The meaning of dead is: when Adam disobeyed God in the garden, he lost the life of God and was cut off from the tree of life; thus he and all his descendants passed from life (of God) to death in the life of God. So we are dead until we are restored to the Spiritual image of God in all righteousness and holiness, which only occurs in those who have crucified the selfish, sinful spirit within them, which is then replaced by the Spirit of Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. With Christ in us, controlling our words and deeds, we have the Life of God; but not until then. So, Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light. For in him is the Life, and the Life is the light of men; the true light that enlightens all men who come into the world. John 1:4,9.]
