Ezekiel 15

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

"Son of man, how is the grapevine better than any tree, or branch which is among the trees of the forest?

Can wood be taken from it to do any work? Or will men make a pin of it to hang a vessel on it?

Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devours both the ends of it, and the middle of it is charred. Is it useful for any work?

Behold, when it was whole, it was not useful for any work; how much less shall it be useful for any work, when the fire has devoured it and it is charred?

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Like the grapevine among the trees of the forest, which I have given as fuel for the fire, so I will give up the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And I will set my face against them; they will go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and you shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them.

And I will make the land desolate because they have been unfaithful," says the Lord GOD.
