Hosea 6

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

"Come, and let us return to the LORD, for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has wounded, and he will bind us up.

After two days he will revive us; in the third day he will raise us up so that we may live in his sight.

Let us know Him, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the morning, and he will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth.

O Ephraim, what shall I do with you? O Judah, what shall I do with you? For your love is like the morning mist or the early dew that goes away.

Therefore I have cut them in pieces by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth; my judgments are like the light that goes forth.

For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

But they like men [and Adam] have transgressed the covenant; there they have dealt treacherously against me.

Gilead is a city of those who work iniquity, and is defiled with footprints of blood.

And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder on the way to Shechem [a city of refuge]; surely they commit lewdness.

I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel. There is whoredom in Ephraim; Israel is defiled.

Also, O Judah, there is a harvest appointed for you, when I return the captivity of my people.
