11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man, and that they are vanity.1 [Paul, addressing crucified believers, wrote: "we also all had our conduct in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts of our mind." Eph 2:3. From the Word of the Lord within: "The mind is not subject to the law, nor can it be. We labor with a cursed mind for the carnal mind is neither subject to the law of God, nor can it be. That which is in the enmity must die. All thoughts must be rejected." Grace destroys the sinful nature with its carnal mind.]

1 The LORD knows the thoughts of man, and that they are vanity. The Lord knows all men's thoughts, words, and deeds; he remembers all of them from everyone. From the word of the Lord within: "your thoughts, at best, are a vain hiss," (as from a snake). Our spirits are selfish, sown by Satan, who taught us to become our own gods, who led us in rebellion, who then became our master, whom we serve; until the Lord completely delivers us from our sins. We can talk about Christ and God all day, we can sing, we can read the Bible, we can pray continually — but until our carnal mind, which is enmity to God, has been destroyed, and replaced by the mind of Christ, everything is vanity, everything is an abomination to the Lord. We are selfish, ravenous beasts, until the Lord changes us by his grace. See Only Those Who Do the Will of the Father Enter Heaven for more.
