Men in all nations are going through life drunk on their lusts and pride, persuaded by the false church that God overlooks their ungodly lives. Babylon has been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken. The nations have drunk of her wine, and therefore the nations are mad. Jer 51:7. All the nations of the earth have become drunk on the wine of the false church's embrace of the world's ways, and then licensing her members to live their lives drunk in continual sin of lusts and pride.
and the kings of the earth have committed adultery with her.
The Kings of the earth have also drunk from her cup. By 325 AD, Roman Emperor Constantine had effectively become the head of the "Christian" church, ruling on many of its doctrines. Under the leadership of Emperor Constantine, who had poisoned his son and boiled his wife to death, the Catholic sect was embodied into the Roman government, which prescribed its doctrine, built its churches throughout the empire, paid the clergy, clothed the clergy identical to Roman government officials, abolished Passover to become Easter, and designated Christmas to coincide with Roman pagan holidays. Christian names were applied to the various heathen rituals and traditions, giving credibility to the unsuspecting. All dissenting Christian believers were either banished into exile or killed.
Roman Emperor Theodosius I enacted a law in 380 establishing Catholic Christianity as the official religion of the Roman Empire. The crushing boot of the Empire's sponsored Roman religion was used to persecute and kill the true church. The Roman Empire's church, both east and west, had doctrines, which had been dictated by the sainted Emperors Constantine and Justinian the despot, thus eliminating the true gospel by 388 AD. As prophesied in Revelation, the church adulterated with the Kings of the earth. You can't mix a church with the powers of the earth, and expect anything but a monster religion to result because the powers of the earth are motivated by greed, approval of men, possessions, envy, revenge — all the base human characteristics.
and the merchants of the earth have grown rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
The merchants are the preachers and priests of Babylon, (made to look like Christianity on the surface), who have preached for filthy lucre, who have taken money from the flock, who have gone the covetousness way of Balaam, for whom blackest darkness is reserved for the first will be last and the last will be first.
While this false church is often identified by the Protestants as the Roman church, the Jews, and the Protestants are all part of the same false whore, (the beast has many names), and deficit sects practicing the man-made inventions of: infant baptism, grape juice and bread, the trinity, (nowhere mentioned in scriptures), marriage by priests, vain and prideful buildings, steeples with bells, black robes, black shirts, special collars, creeds, reading sermons, sacraments, vicars, clerks, parsons, curates, bachelors of art, masters, fathers, Christmas, Easter, and bachelors of divinity; salvation based on saying certain words, water, bread and wine — all superstitious rituals — instead of a complete change of heart — circumcised to be a new heart and mind; all are inherited inventions of the mother of Protestantism, the Roman Catholics.
